Microsoft Word - Level One Outline
General Course Information:
As courses can be customised to suit, condsider this
as a general guide. Face-to-face courses are offered, but not restricted to, the
Sydney metropolitan area. Other requirements will be considered on request.
Description: This
course aims to increase productivity by providing basic skills
and knowledge to use Microsoft Word effectively and efficiently.
Learning Outcomes - on completion participants
will be able to:
- Start Microsoft Word,
navigate menus, toolbars and the application window
- Create and save a simple
document
- Create a letter based
on a letter template
- Use Word's tab feature
- Create tables of various
sizes
- Locate, open files
using the Open dialog box, work with multiple documents
- Insert and delete text
using a number of methods
- Save documents to a
variety of locations and change file names
- Access and use a variety
of help features
- Use the Print Preview
facility of Word and print documents
- Navigate a document
using a variety of methods
Target Audience: Designed for participants
with little or no knowledge of Word, or who are self-taught and
are seeking to fill in any gaps in their existing knowledge.
Prerequisites: Basic
computer skills using mouse and keyboard with an understanding of working in the
Windows environment.
Methodology: A hands-on
approach is taken during this course. The exercises are designed to impart
relevant skills and knowledge by having participants work through real-life
examples and scenarios.
