InDesign - Level One Outline

General Course Information: As courses can be customised to suit, condsider this as a general guide. Face-to-face courses are offered, but not restricted to, the Sydney metropolitan area. Other requirements will be considered on request.

Description: This course is an introduction for students who would like to learn desktop publishing using InDesign.

Learning Outcomes - on completion participants will be able to:

• Navigate in InDesign
• Create documents using set-up, text and graphics
• Use master pages and multiple pages
• Apply character and paragraph formatting
• Import and manage graphics
• Create styles and numbering
• Create and edit tables
• Use the story editor
• Use typography techniques and type effects
• Create a Table of Contents

Target Audience: Designed for participants with little or no knowledge of InDesign or desktop publishing.

Prerequisites: Participants should have general computer and word processing skills and be proficient using mouse and keyboard.

Methodology: A hands-on approach is taken during this course and participants will create various document from scratch. The exercises are designed to impart relevant skills and knowledge through practice.
